Make it Mudbricks run practical two-day workshops in mud brick building so you can experience mud brick building at close range. At a workshop you will see some great mud brick homes, gain an appreciation of what is possible with mud brick, have an opportunity to ask questions and get your hands dirty building a real mud brick building. The trainer is Peter Hickson, specialist mud brick builder with 20 years experience.

When: Saturday & Sunday, October 18th & 19th, 2008, 9:00am - 4:30pm

Where: St Vincent De Paul City Farm, Bamarang Rd, West Nowra
Cost: $300/person, $550/couple including GST.
Program:
Saturday: Properties of mud bricks, designing a mud brick home so it is energy efficient, half day tour of mud brick homes.
Sunday: A practical day building a mud brick workshop at the City Farm - making mud bricks, making mortar, laying mud bricks, finishing techniques including rendering and bagging, general construction considerations such as foundations, installing services, fixing lintels, windows and doors. There is ample opportunity to ask questions throughout the workshop.
Included: Lunch and morning tea both days.
